About

Sean Key

Senior digital programme manager. Director of PRAG-DEL-SOL-ONE Ltd.

I've spent 27 years delivering complex digital and technology programmes, mostly in the NHS but also in energy, rail, aviation and local government. Health is where I do my most rewarding work, and the NHS is where I've built my deepest expertise.

I deliver benefit from strategy through portfolio, programme and project management, and I set up and run project management offices. I can lead the work or join an existing team in a supporting role.

My work has covered GP and primary care, community, mental health, acute, ambulance, ICS and ICB, PCN and private healthcare. I've led clinical system replacements, PACS and RIS deployments, LIMS implementations, interoperability and data feed programmes, urgent care informatics and shared care record rollouts, from discovery through go-live and into business as usual.

The NHS now has to show that its digital investment pays. Shared care records have to support neighbourhood teams, and ICBs have to evidence productivity gains as well as deployment milestones. Ambient voice, AI triage and the Federated Data Platform bring new implementation work that needs the same thing: someone who can connect the clinical, technical, information governance and operational threads and make the investment land.

I'm not a clinician. My expertise is delivery, and I work closely with clinical safety officers and clinical leads so that what we deliver fits how care is actually given. I treat clinical safety and information governance (DCB0160, DPIA, DTAC, data sharing agreements) as standard practice.

The company name is short for Pragmatic Delivery Solutions: use the method where it helps, drop the ceremony where it doesn't, and keep the focus on the outcome.
